Baptism and a Bird

(Click on the picture to make it bigger)

We had a baptism on Saturday at the beach. 18 people got baptized from the Bastion Block 6 church. See that line up? It was a gorgeous day, and everyone was really excited. I'll point out some people... the 2 women at the top are Naomi and her mom. Naomi is a new believer and she's in my small group. The group in the right hand corner is Rolando, the pastor, Felipe, an elder, and Felipe's daughter.

The girl in the left hand corner is Jenny- she was watching her new step-dad get baptized. She's on of my students, and I went over her house today to hang out with her family. When we got to the house, she was really excited to show me their pet birds. Unfortunately one of them was missing. A few minutes later, her sister found it dead in a little cage in their bedroom. Her sister (5) started wailing, since it was her little bird. Jenny comforted her, but it was really sad :( Then Jenny proceded to clean the house, heat up the dinner that her mom had left, and serve us food. She's 10 years old!! Her mom came home from work a few hours later, and it was good to get to know her too.
