He has shown you, oh man, what is good and what the Lord requires of you: to walk justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8

and we start March 2!

Opening day is quickly approaching! Que gusto! Our days have been filled with planning, practicing, and creating. We now have a 5 week schedule for Program 1 where we will visit 65 schools. We had to talk to each individual director of each school, introduce our topic and ask for a date to come. Some days, I went with Benji and other days Sam did. When we´re home at night we have THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of worksheets to count and organize into school piles.
  • VISITS
I was really impressed by one particular director this week. Benji told me that after a few years of coming to this rough rough neighborhood, this director really changed the dynamics of the school. When we met her, she was just letting her first graders out for recess. She took us to her office which is in the old boys’ bathroom. The stalls and a lingering smell are still there. She told us that she moved her office here because they were short on space (can you IMAGINE a principal saying, “Well, we don’t have enough room, so, I’ll just move my office to the boys’ bathroom.” ?! That would never happen!!) AND she moved her office because in the past, that was where all the trouble happened. Now, she keeps an eye over this area of her school- very selfless move! The changes have taken place and now her school has one of the best reputations in the area.
  • PRAYER
Prayer is so important!! We know this, but do we know this?? We try to pray before every meeting that we have. It really makes a difference!! The catholic priest has welcomed our evengelical team into his schools to teach the Bible. One supervisor over all of the public schools has signed our letter, giving her permission as well. The doors are open!
  • HEALTH
Little pieces of me have been getting infected and it´s not fun. First my thumb nail, which is starting to grow back, and now my nose. Thankfully antibiotics are easy to find and buy and I think they´ll know me by name pretty soon at the pharmacy! Hopefully I won´t have any new health issues to report in my next update!

I'm glad your thumb nail is back in one piece. Funny thing about the director in the boys bathroom. I wonder if anybody ever gets the urge to use them. Praying for ya!
