He has shown you, oh man, what is good and what the Lord requires of you: to walk justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8

Tormenta!!

Dear faithful readers,

I'm very sorry I haven't written in so long! I'm going to blame it on the internet, ok? Don't be mad, be glad i'm alive! On Saturday, I survived the worst storm of my life, in a car without windshildwipers and headlights, among other things. It only lasted 7 minutes, but we were in the eye of the storm for those 7 minutes... on the same street, within 1 block (or maybe right underneAth this, we couldn't see a thing!!!) of this:

Can you see the tower bent in half?? THIS WAS THE STREET WE WERE DRIVING THROUGH!!! WE PASSED THIS DURING THE 7 MINUTES WHEN THIS TOOK PLACE!!!
HUGE, OLD trees were uprooted all over the city of Asuncion. We lost power for a few days, and even had church in the dark with candles and flashlights!

I'm honesly grateful that I survived this storm. Thank you for praying!

Check out Mariana's Blog http://enzoyalessia.blogspot.com/2008/10/sabado-25-1008-el-peor-de-mi-vida.html for a more complete update and the Paraguayan version of this story (there's a translator on her page if you want to read in English).

How my life has flashed before my eyes this week...
  • Storm: you know the story
  • Electricution: Hint. Don't try to take a broken piece of your charger out of the socket. 220 volts of electricity is not a pleasant feeling.
  • Darkness: I came home late; took a bus that dropped me farther away; my neighborhood had no electricity; I walked in pitch blackness!

Thank you Lord for Your protection!
