Saturday was El Dia del Nino here in Paraguay. Mariana, Adrian, Ruth and I went to buy presents for the kids and all of these gifts were bought with money that YOU gave! How cool is that?!
We bought a lot of toys and fun things, but also included soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste and other practical things in the gifts for these kids. This program is in the same "town" that I'm living in; however, it is in the middle of a totally different community. The members of this community are living on government owned land and are extremely poor. The Anex Program (because it's an anex of La Iglesia Evangelica) is solely supported by Daniel & Mariana (the couple that I'm living with), Adrian (Mariana's brother) and Valley Bible Chapel! 100 kids came out on Saturday to sing, hear about God's love for them and recieve presents. After the Bible study everyone ate cake and played in the "Globo Loco", a big blow up jumping thing.
These are some of the kids that I'm going to be working with specifically. Adrian says I have one more week to learn Spanish before I'm teaching this class!
