My goal this week was to somehow invest in individual kids. This is so overwhelming for me when we see 700 kids in one day... but somehow, I was able to. At one school, the teenagers started to try out all their English on me while the younger adolescent girls were
just so affectionate and looking for attention. I was able to hang out with them in the few minutes before and after the program. The week ended with a school where the kids actually remembered my name! 5 weeks, after I had seen them, they remembered a wierd, foreign name! That's amazing!! (If they pronounce it "Eren" they can say it and remember it. "Erin" just produces confused, blank stares.)
Missionary Biographies: My other goal at the moment. Amy Carmichael
was incredible! I'm loving her so much! She was constantly on the move, never wasting any moment of her life to tell people about Jesus or help someone in need! Even on her long, treacherous boat rides to other countries, she formed Bible studies and people were saved. She lived with the people that she was trying to minister to, regardless of bugs, dirt and disease. I haven't even read about the ministry that she is famous for yet, but I'm so impressed by her!

SO AWESOME!
Love the picture of the kiddies, and what a fabulous goal to have! I am sure you are really connecting with a lot more kids than you realized -- young kids have great memories!
You are making me want to read about missionaries now!
Which book are you reading? I think I read A Time to Die, or something like that. She also wrote a book of poems/quotes that I remember enjoying.
If you send your mailing address down there, maybe I'll be able to send down some more biographies of missionaries that I come across.
