He has shown you, oh man, what is good and what the Lord requires of you: to walk justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8

Language Mystery

Why do we all speak different languages? How can you make someone else understand what you're thinking or feeling? It's really crazy to think about, and even crazier to try in a room with people from alllllllll over the world. Why'd those people (in Genesis) want to build a tower to reach God in the first place? NOT a smart move.

I've gone to a different level language class every day this week, and I've learned a lot from each one. Wednesday I took the "superior" level with a Brazilian woman. That was really challenging, but I wasn't completely lost. I definately think that she has an advantage with knowing Porgugese! :-( Today I went back to the secondary level, but with a faster moving class. I was with a German girl for one hour, and then 3 Brazilians joined us for the next 3 hours (again, bringing along their unfair advantage). I'm really excited to get to know all these people from the institute. Everyone has an interesting story about why they're here in Paraguay and it's a really international experience.

Breakfast-AM- not usually eaten, but sometimes coffee or mixta (ham & cheese on toast) Lunch-12:00ish- The big meal of the day. Kids go home from school for lunch and some people come home from work as well.
Merendar-5:00ish- Sometimes after a siesta (so GREAT! Why don't we have these in the US???), a little snack to hold you over until dinner.
Dinner-9:00 or later- The final meal of the day, not as big as lunch, but bigger than merendar

So cool to read this. You rock. We have your card on the fridge to remind us to pray, and I think about you all the time. LOVE YOU ERIN! Keep being the coolest person ever. As airheaded as that sounds in typing, I really mean it sincerely and I'm so proud to know you. You really inspire me... hugs!!
